Between the National Center for Public Health and Kazakh Agro Technical University. S.Seifullin signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, the main direction of which is to change the recipe of bread / bakery products in terms of a phased reduction of salt in order to form a culture of healthy nutrition, strengthen the health of young people.

According to WHO recommendations, reducing the amount of salt in food is most effective to start with bread, as a mass consumption product.

In the experimental production workshop for the production of bread and bakery products of Kazakh Agro Technical University. S.Seifullin will bake bread with a reduced salt content for students and teachers of the university, which will be one of the key measures for the prevention of noncommunicable diseases.

In this regard, the parties expressed the hope that other manufacturers of bakery products will support this initiative.

In addition, over time, medical organizations must come to the realization of their new mission: to teach how to be healthy, to educate the population on preventive measures and proper nutrition. Thus, at the level of primary health care, the most important principles must be implemented that determine the development of the health protection system for the future - “from illness to health” and “training and care instead of treatment”.

In many countries, the bulk of the salt comes into the human body from processed foods (prepared meals; meat products like bacon, ham and salami, cheese and savory snacks) or from foods that are often consumed in large quantities (like bread).

The human body receives all the necessary substances through food and water. The composition of food products and their properties directly affect health, physical development, ability to work, emotional state, in general, quality and life expectancy.

Improper nutrition can cause significant harm to human health at any age. This is a decrease in the level of physical and mental development, fatigue, a decrease in working capacity and a decrease in life expectancy.

Excessive salt intake leads to metabolic disturbances in the body: water-salt metabolism, salt accumulates in the body, teeth become damaged, gastritis, and stomach ulcers appear. The aging process accelerates. Excessive salt intake increases blood pressure, which in turn increases the risk of heart disease and stroke.

Now children and adolescents lead a sedentary lifestyle, sit at a computer, on social networks, eat fast foods, eat sausages, chips, and consume mayonnaise. Sausages, especially smoked, contain a lot of salt. Unhealthy diets and lack of physical activity are major health risks worldwide.

I am glad that it is in the main city of the country that bread with a reduced salt content will be baked. The recommended daily intake of salt is 5 g per day (about one teaspoon).

From my own experience I’ll say that my family and I lead a healthy lifestyle, eat right. We have reduced the consumption of bread, bakery products, eat more often, mainly vegetables, protein products. Even my children know that the plate should be visually divided into 4 parts, that the table should be got up with a feeling of slight hunger. In the evening we have a light dinner. We can eat an apple, drink ayran. I was convinced that children can be taught to eat right, just that parents need explanatory work.

Now we have a lot of obese people, a lot of children and adolescents with excess weight and even obesity. They want to help, come up and say, please eat right, exercise, do not consume too much salt and sugar.

Parents should educate their children about the dangers of salt and unhealthy diets. At school, from the first grade, it is also necessary to carry out explanatory work, if correctly explained, the children quickly catch everything, they will never drink, eat a harmful product.
