According to them, it is necessary to specify on the label (and even in the menu) the amount of sodium. Such information enables to track the amount of salt people consume.

What are the dangers of violation of rules?

Excess sodium consumption rate is one of the causes of circulatory system diseases and the emergence of other diseases that lead to premature death.

Among causes of death population of the region in 2017 year, as in years past, the first place occupied the diseases of blood circulation system (14 million people or 70% of the total number of deaths), the second – neoplasms (2.6 thousand people or 13%), third – external causes of death (1.1 thousand persons or 5%).

How to solve the problem in Europe?

After studying the harmful effects of excessive sodium consumption and insufficient potassium in the diet in Europe since 1972 began to produce salt mixtures in which instead of sodium chloride to add potassium chloride in various proportions. Italy, for example, produce salt in the ratio of sodium chloride to potassium chloride in the proportions 50/50, in Finland – 30/70, Spain – 35/65, in Poland – 30/70 and 70/30.
