The STEPS-2019 noncommunicable diseases study was organized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Health Organization as part of a joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank "Improving Health in the Service of People."

The research was carried out by the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Public Organization "Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after Alexander Yaremenko."

These studies have identified factors that negatively affect cardiovascular health, namely:

  • excess intake of sodium salt almost three times - 12.6 g at a rate of 5 g;
  • potassium deficiency in nutrition - 2.5 g at a rate of 3.5 g
