Scientists of Jena University of Germany published the ranking of countries in terms of mortality from cardiovascular disease associated with malnutrition. In determining a rating, the researchers used the results of the research 51 the European countries for the period 1990 to 2016.
In this rating Ukraine is on the first place among the countries of Eastern Europe.
In 2016, the mortality rate in Ukraine from cardiovascular diseases caused by improper food, made To 349 per 100 thousand population
In this study, it is reported that one of the main causes of death from cardiovascular disease is a diet with a high level of sodium consumption (especially in common salt), as well as the low intake of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds.
The ranking of deaths from malnutrition
Correct all, turned out to feed on the inhabitants of Spain, Israel and France. In these countries because of unhealthy eating habits from cardiovascular diseases (CVD) were killed only 43-46 per 100 thousand population.
Previous studies
Another group of scientists that consisted of 488 scientists from 303-x research institutions in 50 countries, conducted a study from 1990 to 2010 and analyzed the excess sodium intake of the population. The results of these studies Ukraine took first place out of 30 major European countries in mortality from cardiovascular disease associated with excess sodium intake.
Because excess consumption of sodium salt in Ukraine in 2010 was 211 people died per 100 thousand population.
Insights
Comparing these two research scientists, we can conclude that more than 60% of deaths, caused by improper diet, associated with excess consumption of conventional sodium salt.
As the struggle for life in developed countries
It should be noted that in the developed countries for the prevention of CVD has long been used salt with low sodium content, additives Potassium. This salt instead of regular sodium salt was first used as food in Finland since the 70-ies of the last century. It influenced the decrease in salt intake with 16g to 9 g per day, which in terms of sodium amounted to a drop from 6.2 g to 3.8 g, the intake of 2G (recommendation of the who). As a result, the CVD mortality in Finland has decreased seven-fold, and life expectancy increased by 13 years.
This success of the Finns was required not only for the government financing program "North Karelia"that lasted for more than 25 years, but the work of public organizations to promote healthy lifestyles, including reducing consumption of sodium salt and its replacement in the diet for salt with reduced sodium content with potassium supplements.
Healthy salt in Ukraine
In Ukraine the salt is similar to Finnish, started to produce in 2014, under the brand name SOLENA. It reduced sodium by 30% by adding salts of potassium and deficient in nutritional minerals.
It is hoped that the government of Ukraine will pay attention to the experience of Finland, of the UK – will Finance a program aimed at elimination of the main reasons for calling 60% of CVD mortality with malnutrition – excess consumption of sodium salt by the population.
And while only made the order of the Cabinet of Ukraine №530-p from July 26, 2018, in one of the paragraphs which refer to reducing salt consumption by the population by 30% by 2030.
Reduce the intake of sodium salt to normal and reduce potassium deficiency in the diet will help salt SOLENA low in sodium (70% sodium salt, 30% potassium salt). Click to see where to buy salt SOLENA.
