German scientists have discovered a new way to strengthen immunity and minimize the risks of an organism’s disease. They were able to prove that reducing sodium in foods increases the body's ability to resist infections.

The study, in which scientists found that salt weakens the immune system, was carried out by German scientists in two stages - first in rodents, and then in humans. Researchers introduced mice with a high sodium salt content into mice, after which hundreds of times more pathogenic pathogens were detected in the spleen and liver of animals that cause fever, vomiting, and even sepsis. At the second stage, human volunteers were studied - in their diet sodium salt contained six grams more than normal. And after some time, the volunteers also showed pronounced immunodeficiency.

But not only infections

As you know, in many countries the increased consumption of sodium salt is much higher than the WHO recommended norm - 8-10 g per day instead of 5 g.
